Is Software Overtaking Real Estate?

Earlier this year, a16z revealed they had co-led an investment of $175 million in the Loft real estate company. Loft is based in São Paulo, doing what Opendoor is doing in the USA in Brazil. They add more competition to the residential real estate marketplace, and it turns out that in Brazil the need for that is even greater. That seemingly has made Loft one of the world’s fastest growing real estate companies today. Here’s Alex Rampell (general partner at a16z) thinking about how tech can destroy the real estate environment.
