GwenneG (or "little penny" in Breton) fulfills the need for proximity and encourages all of us to fund Breton ventures in the form of grants, loans or equity investments. It's a specific and special offer in participatory financing. The aim is to support development and employment in Brittany for future generations.
1- Supporting Brittany's Development and Employment
The aim of GwenneG is to allow anyone, to contribute to the region's growth by financing projects of individuals, organisations or companies that today can not expand due to lack of financial support. The investments are beginning at €5.
GwenneG targets all project leaders: start-ups or pre-development start-ups, very small businesses/SMEs, associations or individuals seeking funding.
The sustainability of these ventures and businesses ensures jobs for decades to come in Brittany. Therefore, mobilizing individuals to invest their savings in their territory's development is one of the aims. Proximity puts people back at the heart of the financing process, and everyone can influence Brittany's future.
For businesses, GwenneG may fund the entire life cycle of a product or service:
- Starting with contributions with counterparts for funding, for example, the need for start-up working capital and/or establishing the first consumer base (e.g. pre-sale of a product).
- Financing a fundraising campaign to launch the activity in the start-up phase, with or without syndication with the financing actors.
- Financing development production by borrowing.
2- How It Works
Three types of project leaders exist:
Companies/associations/natural people seeking financial support (with or without counterparties);
- Debt-financing-seeking companies;
- Equity-financing-seeking companies
An All-Budget Platform
With GwenneG, real economy financing is not reserved for the wealthy, but open to smaller portfolios, too, from "small pennies" to "gwenneg."
Everyone can become a donor from €5, lend to a company starting from €20, and become a Breton company shareholder from € 100. The goal is to make local investment accessible to as many people as possible to participate in tomorrow's Brittany construction.
Certification: Safety Guarantee
GwenneG platform is registered as an Equity Financing Intermediary with ORIAS (Single Registry of Insurance, Banking and Finance Intermediaries), authorizing it to put projects online and finance them via loans. Proposing equity projects requires Participatory Financing Advisor certification. Each file is an in-depth analysis and exchange with the project leader. GwenneG's financial team reviews these projects. Presenting the pre-selected projects to an extended review committee is the next step. This committee includes Breton men and women, managers, business leaders and senior executives.
Proximity: Restore Meaning to Your Savings
If Brittany can be a breeding ground for regional participatory financing actions, its identity is what brings people together and mobilizes them. Britons, very attached to their region, are more inclined to support local initiatives led by associations and companies in their region. The Breton culture in France and around the world will be mobilized. And the projects, presented geolocally, will encourage anyone, if they so wish, to make geographical choices to reinforce their commitment to their locality.
If project financing is done via the platform, it's not a simple financial operation, because the virtual community must meet. In cities with over 10,000 inhabitants and in Paris, a "Breizh tour" with "pitch galettes sausages" and "pitch crêpes" will be arranged to encourage project leaders to meet their contributors.
Staying socially responsible, financially profitable!
